Rating the countries according to their power production


- Germany was the largest wind power producer generating 55,170 GWh from wind. That is the power generated on average by 8 nuclear power reactors with capacity 1000MW.

- Germany was also the largest solar power producer generating 34,776 GWh from solar energy. That is the power generated on average by 5 nuclear power reactors with capacity 1000MW.

- Germany was also the largest power producer generating 548,523 GWh.


Ratings by share of power production from one source:

- Denmark was the leader in wind power generation with 42.71% power production from wind

- Greece was the leader in solar power generation with 9.48% power production from PV

- Finland was the leader in biomass power generation with 16.88% power production from biomass

- Norway was the leader in hydropower generation with 95.94% power production from hydropower

- Denmark was the leader in power generation from new renewables (wind, solar and biomass) with 52.20% power production from new renewables

- Iceland was the leader in power generation from all renewables (hydropower, wind, solar and biomass) with 100% power production from all renewables
